Starting Monday, January 23rd, IHFA and the Department of Commerce are requesting comments on the Draft Assessment of Fair Housing for the State of Idaho (formerly known as the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing).
The above legal notice was sent to statewide media ahead of the comment period on 1/18/17; feel free to share with your program partners and stakeholder groups. This plan should be of interest to anyone receiving or administering federal funds from the U.S. Dept. or Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
This includes, but is not limited to:
- housing providers / professionals,
- community and economic developers,
- city or county government elected officials,
- planning, development and transportation professionals,
- consumer, tenant and disability rights advocates.
Note. The draft will be available online from January 23rd to February 22nd; the legal notice includes instructions on comment submission to either IHFA or Commerce.
BBC’s Heidi Aggeler outlines HUD’s new Assessment of Fair Housing process.
The Regional Housing Roundtables sponsored by Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA) provide an opportunity for housing and community stakeholders to share information on needs, opportunities and challenges. Participants share updates on program goals, pending legislation or resources available to create housing that meets the needs of all community residents.
The Spring 2016 Roundtables also served as an opportunity to share information on the 2016 Analysis of Impediments/Assessment of Fair Housing (AI/AFH). In conjunction with key person interviews, data collection and a stakeholder surveys, IHFA used the Roundtable sessions as an opportunity for discussion of the preliminary findings of the 2016 process. IHFA and the Department of Commerce contracted with BBC Research and Consulting to conduct the analysis and produce a statewide report and planning document for Idaho’s non-entitlement areas.

Analysis of Impediments (AI)
The 2011 Idaho Analysis of Impediments (AI) is a report commissioned by Idaho Housing and Finance Association and the Idaho Department of Commerce. Work on the analysis and the statewide stakeholder survey was performed by BBC Research and Consulting. The 2011 AI represents Idaho’s most comprehensive and robust study to date, and analyzes policies and procedures involving land-use, lending, investment patterns, and complaint data for the state of Idaho.
